The Pittsburgh National Aviary

What a terrific day at the Aviary!! Trish and I spent Saturday hanging out with the birds!! Trish is taking pictures while I risk life and limb trying to entice the birds to eat from my hand. I love to feed the birds in my own yard at home. What an awesome experience to see them up close and personal. The Lories were quite hungry and entertaining. They landed and walked up and down my arm. One climbed up to my neck, for a moment I thought my ear might be a snack.

Samantha Gibson Junior Olympiad; Heptathlon

Samantha "Sam" Gibson is a rising senior star at Trinity Christian School, Pittsburgh Pa.  Sam is a Heptathlon athlete headed to Morgan State University, Baltimore MD, for the Junior Olympics National Championships. She is currently ranked 11th in the country.

Sam will compete on Monday and Tuesday. The Heptathlon includes seven events.  Monday's events include;  the 100 M hurdles, high jump, shot put, and the 200 M dash.  Tuesday's events include;  the long jump, javelin, and 800 M run.
